Sriram is an engineering graduate of the University of Waterloo (UW) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), specializing in supply chain
management.
He is a former Jr. Partner at McKinsey & Co. where he led digital and AI transformations for Fortune 500 organizations globally, focused on traditional asset-heavy industries.
He has a deep passion for construction, developed through his side hustle of
building and renovating homes and finds purpose in using technology to reinvent the industry.
Shahzad Ahmad
Shahzad is a graduate of the National College of Arts (NCA), one of the iconic institutions known for its excellence in art education.
He has over two decades of hands-on
experience in construction, having run a successful custom home design, build and general contracting company, where he has pioneered global sourcing building materials.
He has a deep passion for uniting art, science and engineering to invent and create transformative spaces.
We have been eating our own dog food for years. Both of us are immigrants to Canada, who dreamt of building our respective homes in the new country, in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
As we embarked on our building journey, we quickly encountered significant hurdles, primarily the difficulty of sourcing high-quality, “big-ticket” building materials amid rampant supply chain shortages. This was exacerbated by high cost, lack of local fabrication capabilities and limited selection. Motivated by these inefficiencies, we launched The Build Market, which slashed our construction costs by $$$ per square feet, accelerated construction timeline by X months and boosted market value by XX%. One of our earliest projects garnered 1.4M views on YouTube – we were making waves!
